Accommodation

 

Bendigo boasts a variety of accommodation to suit individual needs.  There are motels, hotels, backpacker hostels, apartments and caravan parks all of varying prices and standards. 

 

Accommodation is plentiful; however, this is a popular time of the year for Bendigo, so dancers would be encouraged to book their accommodation early.  This should ensure they get the standard of accommodation for which they are looking.

TRANSPORTATION & CAR PARKING

 

 

Parking is free of charge. The venue has 5 marked bus parking spaces, 300 marked car spaces on bitumen with overflow parking for 500 cars on site.  There is disabled parking.

 

Transportation will not be provided between accommodation and the venue. 

 

HOW TO REACH BENDIGO

Located in the geographical centre of Victoria, Bendigo is serviced by high quality road, rail and air links.

 

Getting to Bendigo from Melbourne is an easy 90 minute drive along the Calder Freeway. The distance from Melbourne to Bendigo is 147km.  From Adelaide, it is 636 km and from Sydney it is 848 km.

 

 

Bendigo Rail Travel


With reduced fares and increased services, it’s easy to catch the train to Bendigo - the express service is just over 90 minutes from Melbourne. The new V-Locity trains are sleek and smooth and a perfect way to sit back, relax and enjoy the landscape. From Melbourne there are currently 20 services a day on weekdays, 15 on Saturdays and 12 on Sundays.

 

Bendigo Airport Services operates the Bendigo shuttle bus to Melbourne Airport offering several services per day, stopping at Kangaroo Flat, Castlemaine, Chewton, Malmsbury, Kyneton, Woodend and Gisborne en route.

Once you arrive, there are various options for transport in Bendigo.

Free Local Bus Travel for V/Line Rail Passengers


Like in Melbourne, your V/Line ticket gets you free local Bus travel. Buses depart from the Bendigo Station for the CBD and then on to connecting services to surrounding suburbs.

 

 

Bendigo Trams


Bendigo Talking Tram tours operate as a tourist attraction daily. Additional services may operate for special events – check the Bendigo Tramways website for tram timetables, fares and information - www.bendigotramways.com
